Seeking support from others—whether from friends, family, or a therapist—is a key trait of happy and successful people.
I work with individuals, couples, and families on a variety of issues, such as:
- Promoting personal growth and positive change
- Getting "unstuck"
- Creating fulfilling relationships
- Reducing stress
- Overcoming anxiety and depression
- Defining and achieving personal goals
- Cultivating happiness and joy
My clients come from all walks of life. Some are high-achieving individuals who struggle with the downsides of their drive for success, such as stress or strained relationships. Others are struggling for different reasons with excessive worry, anxiety, depression, loss, regret, relationship challenges, or unfulfilled goals.
My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches to mental health and well-being. I employ a variety of methods in working with clients, including:
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness-based techniques
- Insights from positive psychology
Above all, my focus is on what works for each individual client.
I believe it's important to understand not only "why" we are at a certain place in our lives, but also to answer the question "Now What?" so that we can do what is needed to become who we want to be.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and pragmatic. I have an active and direct style in working with clients that is different from the stereotypical passive listening many people associate with therapists.
To that end, I work with clients to define goals for our work together, goals that we can revisit as we go. Having these goals also enables us to mark our progress and decide when therapy is no longer needed.
